Naomi S. Carmel

MA

Early Childhood Intervention Specialist

Naomi Carmel is a special educator with over 30 years of experience working with families and young children. After receiving her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Teachers College Columbia University, she has taught in a variety of self-contained and inclusive classrooms, provided home-based support to children and families, and conducted staff training and consultations.

Children don’t come with an instruction manual, and navigating early development can be tricky. Naomi meets each child where they are, helping caregivers create proactive environments where learning happens naturally. From functional play to behavior management, she collaborates with families and educators to turn everyday moments into meaningful progress.

Naomi helps families understand and navigate a new diagnosis of developmental delay or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and creates personalized plans around their goals.

Facilitated Play Dates: Guided peer interaction and social skill building during structured social opportunities to foster peer interaction and play skills.
